Finalists Announced at the Gordion Arkeofilm Festival!

The preliminaries of the Gordion Arkeofilm Festival have concluded, and the finalists have been announced. In the professional film category, 10 films from various countries have made it to the finals, while 8 films have advanced in the student category.
Organized by the Gordion Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s General Directorate of Cinema, the Ministry of Industry and Technology’s Ankara Development Agency, and the Polatlı Municipality, the festival aims to bring together archaeology and cinema enthusiasts to raise awareness about the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. The preliminary jury, consisting of directors and screenwriters Kadir ULUÇ, Fuat OVAT, Mahmut YILDIZ, and Nurefşan ÜNVEREN, selected the finalist films from 827 entries from 87 countries based on objective criteria. The finalist films will be showcased to audiences in Ankara and Polatlı from September 26-29.
Kadim KOÇ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gordion Foundation, stated that international criteria were taken into account in the evaluation of the films and that the jury members worked intensively to objectively determine the finalist films. The main jury, which will evaluate the finalist films, includes Derviş ZAİM, Prof. Dr. Şule ATILGAN, Prof. Dr. Aslı Yağmurlu, Prof. Dr. Brian ROSE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mutlu BAŞKAYA, Serdar KILIÇ, and Murat Özden ULUÇ. The student films jury will consist of Özkan ÖZ, Hayri ÇÖLAŞAN, and Hacer KOÇ YILDIZ.
