Finalist Films Announced for the 2025 International Gordion Archeofilm Festival

The preliminary selection process of the International Gordion Archeofilm Festival has been completed, and the finalist films for 2025 have been announced. Among hundreds of submissions, 12 films in the professional category and 10 films in the student category have successfully reached the finals.
Organized by the Gordion Foundation and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism – General Directorate of Cinema, the Ankara Development Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the Polatlı Municipality, the festival brings together enthusiasts of archaeology and cinema, aiming to raise awareness about the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
Record Number of Submissions
This year, the festival received a remarkable 1,198 film submissions from 102 countries. The pre-selection jury, consisting of acclaimed directors and screenwriters — Kadir Uluç, Fuat Ovat, Mahmut Yıldız, Nurefşan Ünveren, and Emirhan Türker — carefully evaluated the films based on international standards and objective criteria.
Finalist Films to Be Screened in Ankara and Polatlı
The finalist films will be presented to audiences between 24 – 27 September 2025 in Ankara and Polatlı.
Gordion Foundation Chairman Kadim Koç emphasized that international evaluation standards were considered during the selection process and praised the jury members for their dedication and objectivity in determining the finalists.
